Black Carp

Black Carp is a large freshwater fish known for its dark, almost black body and powerful build. Native to East Asia, this species is commonly found in rivers, lakes, and large ponds. It is mainly known for feeding on snails and other small invertebrates, which helps control pest populations in aquatic environments.

Features:

• Size: Up to 100–120 cm (can grow very large)

• Temperament: Peaceful but very strong

• Tank level: Bottom to middle swimmer

• Lifespan: 15–20 years

• Diet: Carnivorous (snails, mussels, crustaceans)

Tank / Pond Requirements:

• Best suited for large ponds or very large aquariums

• Temperature: 18–28°C

• pH: 6.5–8.0

• Requires strong filtration and plenty of swimming space

Compatibility:Due to their large size, Black Carp are usually kept in ponds with other large fish species.

Special Note:Black Carp grow extremely large and are not suitable for small aquariums, making them better suited for outdoor ponds or large aquatic systems.
